Imbeciles with a capital E!
ok, so they took away our right to buy or sell gum in this country ages ago. Even as a firm believer of the absolute necessity of gum in any society(whether it be for personal hygiene or for the comfort of others), I got used to it. Hey, we can still get it pretty easily right next door, as long as it's for our own consumption of course. But what I saw today on television made me completely ashamed of my birthplace. No, acty just the government and the imbeciles who wrote this ad...
Scene opens with an old lady at the coat check counter at a club/discotheque.
Old Lady: I think I left something here.
Man at coat check: What was it?
Old Lady: I can't quite remember, I think it was a coat...no, acty I think it was a bag...
Man looks at her impatiently
Screen fades to black and these words come up:
Cut to the old lady looking lost at the coat check

now, I always felt that our money-minded society/government never really had a place for the old or the handicapped but I let them convince me that they were trying, what with building housing especially suited for the elderly, promoting senior citizen's week, making public transport and public places more accessible for the handicapped. Even if they didn't really care, they certainly made a lot of effort to make it seem like they did. But today their cover was blown. They endorsed an ad that basically said old people are stupid and they don't even need drugs to be that way. Congratulations motherland, you really did it this time.
